你好,

如果英文程度剛開始還不是很好的話, 建議可以從較簡單的小說看起. 有一位作家Roald Dahl 雖然寫了很多膾炙人口的童書, 不過他也有出短篇小說. 有些內容還蠻驚悚有趣的, 對大人來說不會太無聊, 而用字遣詞也不會太過困難, 您可以參考看看. 如果一開始就閱讀單字或句型太艱難的書籍, 不僅會失去信心, 也會磨掉耐性吧. 不如從簡單的開始, 慢慢增加級別, 循序漸進的方法會比較理想. ^^

以我個人的經驗, 雖然閱讀英文小說並不會讓你在短短的幾天或幾各禮拜之內英文突然突飛猛進, 但當你讀完1,2本之後, 一定會發現自己的進步. 像我通常喜歡一位作家的話就會猛攻他的書, 因為是同各作家, 所以在幾本之後也會習慣他的寫作模式, 閱讀起來越來越不吃力. 甚至說不定看久了, 他的某些慣用句型你也會記起來, 進而對自己寫作方面產生很大的幫助. 真的要進步的話其實說穿了就是一直把閱讀的習慣保持下去, 不過這也是最難的地方.

先從自己喜歡的作家開始看起吧. 譬如之前您曾經看過並喜愛的翻譯小說, 把作家英文名找出來, 去google看看他有哪些作品, 再從那方面下手. 像我自己的話就很喜歡上述的Roald Dahl, 不管是童書或短篇小說都很有趣. 好久以前喜歡過Robin Cook, 不過看久了之後會有點膩. 最近的新歡是Chuck Palaniuk. 故事還蠻特別的. 閱讀些自己喜歡的內容, 這樣才有持續下去的動力~
