由Nathan(28歲，鼓手/合音)、Caleb(25歲，吉他/主唱)、Jared(21歲，貝斯/合音)以及Mathew(23歲，吉他/合音) Followill等四位年輕家族成員所組織而起的Kings Of Leon，由於父親是傳教士之因，兄弟們跟著父親遊遍整個美國南部，母親則在家擔任起教育工作，有時他們也會上一些教會學校攫取新知。1997年父親脫掉傳教士衣袍，同與愛侶離婚，隨後搬到Nashville居住，Nathan、Caleb、Jared三位親兄弟找來堂兄弟Mathew於2000年正式建立起Kings Of Leon，起初仍盤旋在搖滾與鄉村樂抉擇中，最後仍以搖滾為基調，廣泛攝取多變早期原始音源，陸續推出《Youth And Young Manhood》與《Aha Shake Heartbreak》兩張全登上英國排行季軍之好評佳作。
