I think the prefix and the suffix are only useful when you are at a certain level trying to learn words most people would never ever use. For example, words like flounce. It's kind of like jumping around doing crazy movements, but when you do see people flouncing, you wouldn't say they are flouncing. Most people would just say they are jumping around like monkies. Anyways, I do think I'm going way off topic.
My point is, if vocabularies are so hard to memorize already, why should people memorize more latin or greek words just so they can "guess" accordingly to the roots of the word.
