True EV fires are harder to put out, but I'd recommend you buy from a brand with good safety records so that cars are designed with passenger safety at the forefront. Other than battery, you're also more likely to be stranded due to software in the car shutting the car down as a precaution, cos of possible safety issue. I've seen brand new EV towed to workshop a few times. One other issue people don't talk about and sales people tried to upsell was EV's torque on demand.
