The Buffet drops the Pied Piper of R&B directly in the mix with current sounds. On “Wanna Be There” and “Anything Goes,” he rocks over stuttering hi-hats and gauzy synths, sending a message to the new school he influenced. But he knows what hardcore fans expect from him: to raise pillow talk to new levels. The Buffet delivers with NSFW anthems “Poetic Sex” and “Sextime.” He trades saucy metaphors with Juicy J on “Marching Band.” And just know that “Let’s Make Some Noise” isn’t about crowd participation. More comfort food arrives in step anthems “Backyard Party” and “Wake Up Everybody”—the kind of carefree summer jams that Kells does so well.
