Shayne Ward releases Closer , his first album in four years, in April 2015. The Manchester-born and bred star has sold over 3 million albums, achieved 14 platinum discs and clocked up #1 albums in 9 countries. Shayne is, still to this date, the most successful solo male X Factor winner. Shayne said: I am so excited and proud to be able to announce the release of my new album Closer . I want to thank all my fans who have supported me all the way from when I first stepped into that X Factor audition room through my album releases, tours, Rock of Ages, Dancing on Ice and beyond . Shayne has been hard at work in the studio with Mike Stock, legendary writer who has worked with Kylie, Rick Astley and Bananarama (as part of 80s pop hits production team Stock, Aitken and Waterman). Mike said he has loved having Shayne at his studio and writing and producing with him: Writing and recording with Shayne is a dream. In my experience the most talented are always the easiest to work with, and Shayne is proof of that! It s been a while since I last recorded a solo male singer and I m enjoying doing it again. Since the release of Shayne s last album Obsession in 2010, he has played London s O2 Arena and rocked West End audiences. He recently starred as the Artilleryman in Jeff Wayne s The War of The Worlds Arena Tour, playing shows around the UK in November 2014.
